Pardon our pixel dust as we create a new and improved web presence for all things Wanzie.

In our attempt at making an informed decision we have visited most candidate’s websites, researched the Orlando Sentinel, the Orlando Weekly, the Sanford Herald, and Watermark. Among the organizations we consulted were AFSCME Florida, Equality Florida, Florida AFL-CIO, Florida Conservation Voters, Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus, Florida Tax Watch, Humane Society Legislative Fund, Log Cabin Republicans, Rainbow Democrats, and Speak Up Wekiva. Not all offered recommendations on this year’s Florida Primary ballot while others provided useful information from which we were able to glean some direction.
Our most sincere appreciation is extended to Marni Stahlman for her assistance, as always, in this project – and to Chuck O’Neal whose posts on social media always provide valuable information. There are races not included in this guide and in many cases that implies we could not select with confidence one candidate over another in that particular race.
We also extend our appreciation to Michael Wanzie for the many years long-standing recurring invitation to publish this voter’s guide in the WANZIEgram. This research is not myopic nor single issue oriented – it is about how we can best move our community(ies) forward with consideration in all aspects.
Every registered voter should have received a Sample Ballot in the mail (also available on-line from your County Supervisor of Elections Office) and we recommend selecting your candidates first and highlighting them on your sample ballot and referring to that guide when you vote – plus this can help assure you don’t mistakenly overlook a candidate / issue and fail to vote when you had intended to do so.
Voting is a civic duty not to be taken lightly. We are fortunate to live in a democratic society in which we have an equal voice in selecting our leaders and determining how our government operates. We applaud you on your good citizenship and your attempt to do the right thing. In this election we again have the precious opportunity to assure our voices are heard.
Jeff Horn
